2016/2017 ADMISSION INTO HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME 
PROGRAMMES
1.0 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME PROGRAMMES-
2016/2017 SESSION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Federal 
Polytechnic, Ilaro for Full-Time Programmes leading to the award of Higher National Diploma 
(HND) qualification for programmes in the following schools:
1.1 SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCE: Departments: Computer Science, Food 
Technology, Hospitality Management (Hotel and Catering Management), Office Technology and 
Management (Secretarial Studies), Science Laboratory Technology with options in: Chemistry, 
Physics with electronics and Microbiology and Statistics.
1.2 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES: Departments: Accountancy, Banking and 
Finance, Business Administration & Management and Marketing.
1.3 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING: Departments: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Electrical Engineering with options in: Electrical Power and Machines, Electronics and 
Telecommunications Engineering and Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering with option
in: Plant and Power Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering and Technology.
1.4 SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES: Departments: Architectural 
Technology, Building Technology, Estate Management and Valuation, Quantity Surveying, 
Surveying and Geo-informatics and Urban and Regional Planning.
Duration of all programmes: 4 Semesters (Full Time)
2.0 HND (FULL TIME) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants seeking HND (Full Time) Admission must possess:
A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
(i) A good National Diploma not below Lower Credit (with CGPA not less than 
2.50) and basic requirements for the National Diploma Programme in the discipline.
(ii) A minimum of One Calendar year Post National Diploma relevant Industrial Experience.
(iii) Academic Transcripts which should be sent (directly) by the student’s last Institution 
under confidential cover to: The Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. 
 NO CANDIDATE WILL BE REGISTERED BEFORE THE RECEIPT OF THE 
ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT.
(iv) A good performance in the screening exercise to be conducted by the Polytechnic. 
(v) Provision of JAMB Admission Letter.
(vi) Possession of the specific SSC requirements i.e WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE O’level for 
the course for which the candidate is applying.
(vii) All candidates are expected to consult the institution’s prospectus on the portal or in 
hard copy to ascertain their qualification for courses for which they are applying. 
Candidates should not register for courses for which they do not have the requirements. 
The admission of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro is provisional; ANYTIME it is 
discovered that a candidate registered for a programme for which he is not qualified; 
the admission would be withdrawn.
N.B. No fee paid to the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro is refundable.

3.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Candidates seeking admission into the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro are required to complete the 
Institution’s Application Form available online at: www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng with effect 
from 31st May, 2016. 
4.0 PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Candidates seeking admission for HND (Full Time) are expected to generate an 
Application Form Invoice by filling in their details online on the Institution’s website: 
www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng.
With the application invoice, applicants should obtain a CONFIRMATION ORDER 
NUMBER from any branch of the under-listed banks upon the payment of the sum of 
Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Naira (N12, 800.00) only including bank charges and 
all services (result checking etc.).
Please note that the CONFIRMATION ORDER NUMBER must be obtained in the 
name of the applicant.
The authorized banks are: 
(a) Union Bank Plc
(b) WEMA Bank Plc
(c) United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc
(d) Access Bank Plc
(e) Zenith Bank Plc.
(f) Ilaro Poly Microfinance Bank
(g) Skye Bank Plc.
5.0 SCREENING EXERCISE
Screening exercise for HND (Full-Time) Programmes would hold on August 18, 2016 at 
10.00a.m. prompt. 
Venue of the screening exercise is the Polytechnic, West Campus.
6.0 General Information

August 12, 2016.
