MY NYSC EXPERIENCE (EPISODE 1)

Hello, my name is Babatunde and this is my NYSC experience.

A period of 12 months, 365 days, obeying the Clarion's call is no joke and I think I should share with you.

Concluding my four year Higher National Diploma program was a thing of joy. I had waited long for this moment to come and go and it actually did.

And yes it was time to move to the next stage of registering  for my NYSC.

Fast forward to October 2017, registration had started and like the strong head that I was, I purposely delayed my registration to the third day.

To me I can’t afford to rush, since the server will still be busy, I’d rather take my time and register when the whole rushing had eased a little.

I didn’t know the sad news that awaits me.

And yes I went for the registration the third day as planned and as i got to the stage of picking the four most preferred state to serve, Alas! Lagos was gone, Abuja gone and Portharcourt too.

I sat in front of the computer like…. then where am I suppose to pick?

Well I later resulted to picking Enugu state. You must wonder why I opted for that state instead, well I wanted to learn some other zone language as well as learn how to make those amazing Igbo soups like “Oha” and so on.

You wonder how I developed this love for the state, well my aunt also served close by those zone and gave me some amazing experience of what the state looks like and the enjoyment there in.

I picked Kaduna, don’t ask why because I don’t know myself. I just picked in the midst of strange options.

Kwara was my third choice because I’d rather pick that amidst some Northern states….. I just didn’t want to go too far in the North.

And then lastly I picked Oyo!…. Yes don’t wonder, I was also left with no choice and the cafe attendant told me it’s just like Lagos since its south west region.

I rounded up my registration but there was one spirit of confidence in me that was just saying; “you know what you are either going to Enugu, Kwara or Oyo state”, Oh yes Oyo state was the South western state I begin to gladly hope for.

My friends who had registered before me asked why I was so confident with my choices and I told them, Beliefs turn out to be reality with the help of God.

I just don’t know where the confidence was coming from. (lol).

While waiting for the release of call up letter and I was already making enquiries about Iseyin Oyo camp and enugu camp. Just to show the level of Confidence.

Alas! November 14 2017, the call up letter was released. It was 12 o clock on dot and i quickly logged in to the NYSC profile and yes I found it!!!!!

WATCH OUT FOR OUR NEXT EPISODE.
